Collection: 7 Inch

The 7-inch single is where a lot of collecting stories begin. They’re affordable enough that buying blind feels like a reasonable gamble, small enough that a serious collection can fit in a single crate, and historically significant enough that some of the most important moments in popular music arrived in exactly this format. The first pressing of a classic song, the B-side that became more famous than the A-side, the regional release that never made it onto an album — these are 7-inch records.

Colored 7 inch vinyl records add another layer to all of that. Labels pressed singles on colored wax from the earliest days of the format, partly for marketing, partly for identification, and partly because someone thought it looked good. The result is a vast and largely uncatalogued world of red, blue, green, and multicolor singles scattered across decades of popular music.

This collection covers singles from multiple genres — rock, soul, country, indie, and more — with particular attention to the colored and picture-sleeve pressings that make 7-inch collecting its own distinct hobby. Each listing includes label, matrix, and condition information for the record and sleeve separately.

Seven-inch collecting rewards patience and curiosity in equal measure. Start browsing and see what turns up.
